Bought to keep pool towels clean and out of the way . No bugs or leaves or anything gets on them and good for the pool robes too! Compartments zip and are see through! So far this seems to be a good purchase, would buy again.It easily fits even a large pair of athletic shoes in each slot. Smaller shoes you can fit two pairs. The zipper is nice for keeping out dust. It’s easy to assemble and mounts securely. Just what I needed to tidy up my bedroom without wasting floor space. We’ll see how it holds up over time, but so far I’m pleased.Purchased this to convert into a hanging shoe organizer. Instead of stacking shoeboxes in my closet and getting hit in the face with the corner of a shoebox when I tried to get that one pair at the top of the closet, it was time to invest in a hanging organizer. Where I live, there is road dust, construction dust, and drier lint dust that blows in from other people's balconies, so I wanted something to zip up inside my closet and not have to worry about dusting my shoes every week. There is a strong chemical odor when you first remove it from the plastic packaging: aired out for 1 day = smell disappeared. Velcro is very strong and better for my crooked-closet situation than most organizers with hooks, and fit well around 1.5" thick, wooden dowel closet rod. The six deep shelves are definitely for holding baby clothes, as the shelves are only reinforced at the front for about 3" into each shelf, and I noticed a significant sag even though nothing was in the organizer. HOWEVER, the bottom shelf is 100% reinforced all the way into back of the shelf. I cut out 5 heavy-duty cardboard pieces that I was going to toss out anyway, and lined non-reinforced shelves to support the heavy shoes I was about to place in the organizer. Plus, if/when the cardboard gets dirty, I'll just cut out new cardboard pieces and replace the old ones. The shelves hold women's size 8W shoes very well, with about 1.5" of space b/t the front vinyl zipped area and the rear of the shelf. There is so much space b/t each shelf that it seems a waste if you're not placing high-top sneakers in them, or about 10-12 pairs of baby clothes on each shelf. The shelves are also so wide that I can fit a pair of slippers (on its side) next to the pair of shoes = about 4" of space next to each pair of 8W shoes. Instead of slippers, I've placed an umbrella, a small wristlet purse, a large beach tote bag, and reusable grocery bags w/ handles next to the shoes. The zipper front appears flimsy and very light-weight and for light-use, but it worked fine; I do know that this is meant for storage that you don't access often, so the zipper-front will withstand a once-a-month access for at least 2 years, I predict. If ALL the shelves were reinforced like the bottom shelf, this would be a 5-star purchase for the sale price I paid; hence, the removal of 1 star considering the full cost of the item if you don't pay sale price. If all shelves were fully-reinforced and all other things were kept (velcro to hang organizer instead of hooks + zipper-front to prevent dust intrusion + deep and wide shelves w/ plenty of space in the organizer + awesome sale price), this would truly be a 10-star purchase for my needs. The zipper keeps the yarn clean for dust.I really like the cover on this hanging closet organizer, which is why I bought it. I keep hand-knitted wool sweaters in there. Now I don't have to worry about moths getting it.I love that I can zip this closed to fully protect my clothes but I wish the zipper ran down one side and wrapped around the top and bottom like a door and not just the single vertical zipper down the center - it makes storing and removing folded sweaters a bit difficult.I have a big problem in my apartment and this clothes hanger is completely sealed.
